December Holiday Break Soccer Kick-Around Days for U9 - U13 Players
For: Players aged 8 to 12  When: December 20, 21, and 22  Time: 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
Location: Woodinville Sports Fields #2
Cost: $40 per player, with all proceeds benefitting the FC Alliance Scholarship Fund
Coach Director: Hugo Alcaraz, FC Alliance coach of  BU11, BU12, and BU17 teams; Washington Youth Soccer 2010 Competitive Coach of the Year; and former Sounders player.
It’s easy to register: CLICK HERE to fill out the registration form and mail payment to FC Alliance Registrar Kim Mastan by Friday, December 16th. The registration form is also posted on the FC Alliance website www.fcalliance.net under the “Player Resources” sidebar.

Advanced Soccer Development for ALL Players - FC Alliance is the premier soccer provider for Northshore Youth Soccer Association, with priority placed on offering advanced soccer development to players of all income levels. This season, scholarships were provided to over 50 players. More information is available at www.fcalliance.net.

High school sports help girls earn college diplomas

Girls who don a sports uniform in high school are more likely to eventually sport a collegiate cap and gown, a conclusion based on a new Brigham Young University study about the playing field and classroom dynamic.

Playing on a high school team increases young women’s odds of graduating from college by 41 percent, according to recent BYU grad Kelly Troutman and her mentor, sociology professor Mikaela Dufur, who report their research in the new issue of the journal Youth & Society.
