Dominating FCA G94 can't hold off FWFC, settles for 2-2 tie

March 24, 2011, Woodinville, Wa. - Looking to finally translate its on-field dominance on to the scoreboard this time around, FCA G94 striked first at 28’ with Macaela cleaning up the ball after it escaped the grasp of the fallen Federal Way GK.

Unfortunately for Alliance and just like the last time the same two teams went at it, FWFC didn’t let its 0-1 hole last for long.  Federal Way made it even at 31’ with a kick-from-the-spot conversion which was awarded after a foul call on a FCA defender just inside the right edge of 18-yard box.

Seemingly determined to be victorious, FCA continued its waves of attacks.  After earning a corner kick at 35’ mark, Brianna Mc served up the corner from the right and Rikki redirected the ball into the net and gave FCA a 2-1 lead.

However, just like in all previous FCA scores against Federal Way FC, including one in Feb. 12 game in South Sound, the division leader Reign found a way to even up the scoreboard as it tallied an equalizer at 41’ with a shot over the charging FCA GK Lene.  The game entered halftime with a 2-2 score.

In the second half, FCA continuted its advantage in possesion and attack, but was not able to convert its valiant effort into goals.  The closest Alliance came in scoring the game winner was at 77’ mark when Brianna Mc dialed a long distance ball from the left flank, but just hit the top of the woodwork.
